Shakespeare Crash Course

An Interactive Workshop - Ages 14-18

Shakespeare's texts were never meant to stay on the page.

In this interactive, hands-on theatre workshop we will be bringing his language, stories and characters to life. The goal of this 4-hour workshop is to equip students with the tools needed to approach Shakespeare's plays with joy and confidence.

Together, we will explore theatre techniques, characters, meter and rhyme, and uncover meaning in even the most challenging passages of Shakespeare's language.

The workshop also introduces Shakespeare’s life, Elizabethan theatre, and the cultural world in which the plays were written, providing students with a strong framework for interpreting the texts.

At the heart of the workshop lies active participation. Students will engage directly with some of Shakespeare’s most iconic scenes and speeches using acting and performance techniques, culminating in short shared scene performances on stage.
