Verona is home to two feuding families: The Montagues and the Capulets. Romeo (a Montague) and Juliet (a Capulet) meet by chance at a masked ball and fall head over heels in love. A relentless battle against the hatred of the two families begins. The young lovers go in search for a life together, but fate stirs them in another direction. Deserted by those who were meant to protect them, Romeo and Juliet only see one way out...

The tragic story of the young lovers will be presented in the stunning Gardens of Palais Pötzleinsdorf. Glittering ballrooms, spectacular fight scenes and tranquil moments of bliss combine to make this an unforgettable evening of open air theatre. A fascinating array of top-class guests (Barbara Spitz, Chris Aguilar, Daniel Jeroma and Hollywood-Fight Director Roberta Brown) joins the Open House Ensemble this year and promises Shakespeare like you have never seen it before.
